Hydrochemical evaluation of spring's water in Mila Wilaya, North-East Algeria

Abstract Springs are natural outflows of groundwater to the surface, enabling understand processes their mineralization; contact with rocks modifies chemical composition, a combination that is expressed in hydrochemical facies, which classified into several types. Knowledge spatial distribution and composition spring waters essential for good understanding hydrodynamisms hydrogeology given region. The mountains bordering town Mila home number springs, 25 subject this study. They were sampled, then analysed at ADE (Algerian Water Company) laboratory 2021, properties determined. Geologically, area hosting these springs belongs Tellian domain, eastern segment Maghreb chain, represents alpine range North Africa. Comparison water quality Algerian WHO (World Health Organization) drinkable standards has enabled most samples be as soft or moderately hard water, dominant facies HCO3-–Ca2+–Mg2+ Cl−–SO42-–Ca2+–Mg2+. In waters, main factors controlling water–rock interactions, rainwater contribution.
